The cardiology department of Klinik Hirslanden in Zurich is the first Swiss location to operate the latest generation of the Philips Azurion therapy platform and thus a state-of-the-art cardiac catheter workstation for the treatment of patients with heart disease.

More and more patients with complex heart diseases are being treated using minimally invasive and elaborate surgical procedures. Traditional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involve a large number of technical devices that can only be operated with a lot of personnel.

Philips has countered this with the latest upgrade of the Azurion platform and fully integrated all relevant functions and tools. The catheter workstation offers cardiologists direct control over all essential tools while at the examination table, which can be controlled and used from a single touchscreen module.

With the commissioning of the first example of the latest generation cardiac catheter platform in Switzerland, Hirslanden is not only setting a new standard in the treatment of heart patients in image-guided therapy, but also in the optimisation of work processes. Thanks to Philips Azurion, these have become much simpler and more efficient, giving doctors more time to devote to their patients.
