Dentists who are certified in oral implantology are qualified to insert dental implants (dentures). Implants (pillars) are inserted into the jaw bone during surgery. Dentures are then attached to these pillars. The main treatment areas involve replacing individual or several teeth, extending shortened dental arches and fixing dentures to toothless jaws.

Implants are most often inserted after accidents, in older patients with diseased or damaged teeth, in cases of gum inflammation where there has been bone and tooth loss and of inflammation following root canal treatment, or when teeth have been lost due to illness, after radiotherapy or as a result of certain medicines. The implant usually consists of a titanium screw. Titanium is very allergy-resistant, durable and firm.
